Mother’s Day Brunch Meals
Mother’s Day is all about celebrating mom and making her feel special. A great way to do that is by treating her to a nice meal. Many moms love to cook for their families, while other moms may only use the oven to hold their extra throw pillows. Either way, ALL moms love enjoying a delicious meal, especially when it’s prepared by the ones she loves.
Your Brunch Options
Brunch is a great option for enjoying a late morning/early afternoon meal with mom. There are so many options when preparing a brunch, as you can choose options from either the breakfast category, lunch foods, or both!
One easy and delicious option is a quiche. You can make a traditional pie-style quiche, or you can try the new trend of making “mini quiche.” These are made in a muffin tin, and can be prepared with or without a crust. Quiche is a great option because you can add whatever ingredients mom likes.
You can also incorporate fruit and yogurt into your Mother’s Day brunch with a nice yogurt parfait. Add some crunch with granola and chopped nuts. To really add some fun, create a “parfait bar” where your mom and guests can make their own, by choosing whichever ingredients and toppings they want.
When planning your brunch menu, don’t forget about the drinks! Add raspberries and blackberries to lemonade for a refreshing spring punch. Or, if your mother likes to enjoy a cocktail now and then, you can serve mimosas or a champagne and sorbet float.
And of course, no Mother’s Day meal is complete without a sweet, decadent dessert. If your mom is a chocoholic, she will love a slice of rich French Silk pie, or perhaps some delicious mint chocolate truffles. For a non-chocolate option, try strawberry shortcake. You can make your own, or buy packaged, individual shortcakes and simply top with fresh strawberries and whip cream. Add a little vanilla bean ice cream, and your mother is sure to love you forever! (Although, hopefully she will anyway!)
